Despite heavy downpours outside, spirits were high inside the gymnasium at Stoneham High School, as hundreds of seniors from the class of 2013 graduated Friday night. The Stoneham High School Class of 2013 graduation ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday inside the high school gymnasium.
Hundreds of seniors from Stoneham High School's Class of 2013 will be graduating Friday night at the high school. Preparing for Graduation Seniors will have a graduation practice at 8:15 a.m. Friday at the auditorium, and they will return to the auditorium at 5:45 p.m. before the ceremony, according to Donna Cargill's Principal's Message posted on the Stoneham Public Schools website. Graduation is slated for 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 7 and will be held at the track field if weather permits. Should inclement weather crop up, the graduation will take place inside the gymnasium.

Due to rain during the early morning hours, hundreds of friends and family members of the Stoneham High School Class of 2013 gathered inside the high school gym Monday instead of at the Town Common this year. The promenade, which ran for roughly an hour, kicked-off at 5 p.m. Seniors strolled through an archway set up in the gym before walking around the court to their seats. The 13th annual Stoneham High School Senior Prom Promenade is on Monday, June 3 at 5 p.m. This event starts at Stoneham Town Hall.
The Stoneham High School softball team fell behind early, but came back and held on for a 3-2 victory on Wednesday versus the visiting Chelmsford Lions.
It's been a difficult season for the Stoneham High School softball team. But on Wednesday, the Lady Spartans notched a victory in come-from-behind fashion against a team with postseason aspirations. Stoneham fell behind 2-0, but used a three-run fourth inning to take the lead against visiting Chelmsford. The Spartans avoided a sticky situation in the final frame and went on to snag a 3-2 victory. With the win, Stoneham improved to 4-12 on the year while the Lions dropped to 9-8.
