The Stoneham Middle School teachers versus 8th grade students hockey game is slated for 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9.

The Stoneham Middle School teachers versus 8th grade students hockey game is slated for 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Stoneham Arena. Admission to the game is $3. There will be raffles during the game.

Stoneham High School's Boys' Hockey Team Gets New Locker Room at Stoneham Area

The locker room has 22 custom-made stalls and other new features.

[Editor's note: The information below was submitted by Stoneham resident Lisa Gallagher.] Paul Sacco, Tommy Scarpa and Nick Stead, the coaches of the Stoneham High School boys' hockey program, and Lisa Gallagher went before the Board of Selectman to ask them to accept their gift of completely refurbishing the boys' varsity locker room at Stoneham Arena. The group shared a picture of Harvard University's men's locker room as an example of what they were trying to duplicate. The Selectmen unanimously agreed to accept the gift.  Over the past few months many volunteers have helped make this dream a reality. A Spartan lue ribbon was cut recently by the seven seniors on the team to reveal a locker room that is almost an exact replica of the …

Event Spotlight: Stoneham Figure Skating Club Skate Lessons

An all-ages club for Stoneham Figure Skaters is starting up this Saturday, October 22nd.

Stoneham Figure Skating Club (SFSC) is a non-profit club encouraging the instruction, practice and advancement of its members of all ages in any or all of the disciplines of figure skating; cultivating a spirit of friendship among ice skaters and carrying out the general policies and objectives of United States Figure Skating Association (USFS).  Please check us out at the Stoneham Arena or www.stonehamfsc.org for more information.

Could An Asian Restaurant, Carnival Be Coming to Stoneham?

A variety of issues were addressed by the Stoneham Board of Selectmen at their Tuesday night session.

Town elections and Town Meeting may be over, but the Stoneham Board of Selectmen still had plenty to do at Tuesday night's meeting at Town Hall. Update on Fallon Road Property While the Fallon Road area was once the potential location for a proposed Home Depot, a piece of property just off Exit 35 on I-93 now has a new deed, creating a split of what was previously a united parcel of land on the road. The two parcels, both owned by the Wilmington-based Richmond Group, will focus on two separate uses, with one parcel going toward housing and another toward a self-storage facility. Town counsel William Solomon informed the board that as part of the split, no housing developments on either of the parcels would be able to take advantage of …
