Emma Needs a Home

This 10-years-young couch potato is looking for a new home—could it be yours?

Wow, are you looking at me? That is me in the picture! My name is Emma, I'm a collie-mix, and I want you to love me. I already love you because, well, I'm a very friendly dog. And, I bet this will not surprise you, but I want to go home with you. I do. I really do. Right now, I'm living at the VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital, but I don’t belong here. This is a hospital and I'm not sick. And, I don’t like being kept in a cage. During the day I don't mind it too much because I get to hang out at the reception area. There are many people working here and everyone pats me and says I'm wonderful. They're all so nice and I'm friendly with them. They tell me I'm laid back and relaxed. Someone said something about a couch potato. I'm not sure about …

Will You Bring Home Petite? [PHOTOS, VIDEOS]

This small cat needs a loving home to go to.

Small, but sassy, that is me, Petite, a gorgeous eight-pound tuxedo girl with white socks and a big need of human affection and kisses. I love to play and explore, but will always be happy for a long session of petting first. If you call me, I will come running and then I will roll on my back and play. I'm still a kitten, less than a year old, and have my kitten behaviors. But, I can also be very mellow, sitting in the window and watching the world go by or snuggling in bed with you at night. Mellow only goes so far, however. Wait until dinner when I come running at the sound of the can top popping. I have a quiet meow, but I like to use it. If you listen, you will hear me thank you for my meal. Despite my size, I really do like to be in …

Pumpkin Needs a Loving Home [PHOTOS]

Will you adopt this friendly pooch?

I think I am going to like you. OK, that is easy, because I like everyone. And once I have met you, I will get very excited to see you again. Let's simplify this process: Adopt me and then I will get to see you all the time. I do have a few requirements. I love to have my belly rubbed, so you will need to do that when I roll over for you, which will be all the time. I do have some tricks you might like: I can sit, lie down and offer my paw on command. I'm also excellent on a leash and I love to go for walks. I bet I could learn some new tricks, too. That would be a fun thing for us to do together. Ah, being with my own human is what I dream about. Recently, I got to go home for the weekend with one of the volunteers. I'm told I was quite …

Will You Adopt Tippy? [PHOTOS]

This 6-year-old fox terrier needs a caring home to go to.

Life is good. I mean, I finally have my chance to be the PAWS Pet of the Week. I thought they would never stop with those silly cats and give me my chance to meet you. Hi, I'm Tippy. I'm a loving six-year-old purebred fox terrier and I love you already. OK, I love everyone. But, I'm sure I love you even more than everyone else so please, please come adopt me. I'm being fostered at an animal hospital and it's fun here. I get to sit with the receptionist and greet everyone. When she gets up from her chair, I jump onto it. They have started giving me my own chair to sit on. I think they might ask me to start answering the phones soon, so please come and adopt me because, while I like deskwork, I prefer getting out and about.  I adore car …

Twizzle Needs a Friendly Owner

Will you adopt this gray-and-white striped tiger cat looking for a new home?

My name is Twizzle. I did not pick my name, or my coat, but I think both fit me quite nicely. I love my gray-and-white outfit with its subtle stripes. That’s the understated side of me. As you read further, you’ll learn more about my extra sizzle.  OK, those are big words for a kitten so you know I'm getting some help writing this. After all, I'm just a little guy. Like all kittens, I love to play. I will chase anything, but I especially enjoy that long gray thing I keep glimpsing behind me. I run after it in circles and cannot seem to catch it. It is always just out of my reach, but I do plan to catch it eventually. I'm a persistent little fellow.  In the meantime, I’m happy to catch the tails of my playmates. I can resist pouncing when …

Will You Adopt Spryng? [PHOTOS, VIDEOS]

Who says tuxedos are just for boy cats?

My name is Spryng and I believe in unisex dressing since I am a girl tuxedo cat. Don’t you think I look mighty fine in my dress-up fur? Ok, so I have big feet, but double paws are considered cute in a cat. I like my white socks and I use my big paws to play with catnip mice and grab at any string you might dangle my way. I may look a bit formal, but I am really just a year-old kitten looking for a fun time. That is not to say I am a party animal. I am actually very picky about my friends. I need to really know you before I let loose and have fun. My foster family is nice, but they had to prove they were patient and sweetwhich they are. Now, when they call me, I come running and sometimes I like to sleep on their bed.   Although I can be …

Will You Adopt Tré Cool? [VIDEO, PHOTOS]

This six-year-old orange cat is bright, friendly and curious.

My name is Tré Cool. Like my namesake the rock drummer, I believe that “Everyone is entitled to our opinion.” And, in our opinion, I am truly a cool cat.   I am also bright, friendly, and curious. At six years old, I am settled, but still active and playful. However, you need not worry that I have any other Tré Cool qualities. No drums, no cymbals and the only backup vocals you will hear are when I am forced to ride in a car. Don’t worry, once I arrive at my destination I will settle happily into the swing of things, as was the case went I went to my foster home.  My foster family is wonderful, but just between us, I am eager to find a permanent home. I am looking for people as wonderful as my previous owners, who loved me very much. …

Will You Adopt Scotchie?

This orange and white cat needs a forever home.

My name is Scotchie and I am an amazing feline with red and white fur and luminous green eyes. Sweet, gentle and playful, I love people. In fact, even though I haven’t met you yet, I already know that I like you. Call me and I will come running to you for a head scratch and a play session. I love to chase the cat dancer toy and I will chase any string or ball you send my way. Pile up some pennies for me and I will play hockey with them. I must have been a Bruin in another life. Besides liking people, I am great with other animals. As long as they respect my space, dogs do not faze me at all. I like cats, too, and I know how not to be aggressive if they are just not that into me. I mean, why should I bother when there are so many other …

Natira Needs a Caring Place to Call Home [VIDEOS]

Will you adopt this young, tortoiseshell cat?

My name is Natira and I'm certainly the most beautiful tortoiseshell cat in the world, if not the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. You do want to adopt me, don’t you? I know it's hard to resist my striking colors. But, even though they say beauty is only skin deep, you should know I'm quite beautiful on the inside as well.  Now that we have that out of the way, hold out your hand so I can sniff you. Gentle introductions are important to me, and that’s my way of learning a little more about you. I’m a sensitive soul, so it may take some sniffing to ease my mind—but I promise it will be worth it. Once we are pals, you will find that I love to play. My foster has a great wand with tinsel and I chase it around in circles until I am dizzy. Humans…

Carberry Needs A Loving Home [VIDEOS]

Will you adopt this affection tabby cat?

My name is Carberry and I'm a laid-back, young adult with simple needs. I am 14 pounds and all brawn, so hopefully I can fit on your lap. If not, I would be happy to just hang out with you—the closer the better. And, if you will brush me, I will follow you anywhere. I absolutely adore being brushed. In fact, if you are not brushing me, I will come and nuzzle you as a reminder. I am just a guy who likes his simple pleasures and that is one of them for me. I am cool with other cats and dogs, but I would prefer that other feline friends are as gentle and welcoming as I am. However, I would also be just fine as your one and only as long as you have time to spend with me. Maybe we could have a dinner date? You should know that I’ll always be …
