Stoneham Police Searching For Suspect in Home Break-In

A man allegedly broke into a Katherine Road home late Monday night, according to Stoneham Police.

A man allegedly broke into a Stoneham home late Monday night, according to police. At 11:37 p.m. Monday, police responded to Katherine Road for a report of a breaking and entering into a home, according to police. The suspect allegedly gained access to the house when he "pried (the) basement door (open)," said Detective Robert McKinnon in an email to Stoneham Patch Tuesday afternoon. The suspect entered the home, which was occupied by one person, according to McKinnon, but nothing was stolen. He added that no one was injured during the breaking and entering incident.  Shortly after entering the house, the suspect fled and police called in a State Police K-9 unit to track them. UPDATED: Stoneham Police Looking for Home Break-In Suspect Who Allegedly Stole a Laptop

The victim described the suspect as looking similar to that of former New England Patriots player Rodney Harrison, according to police. The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a white SUV Friday shortly after noon.

A man who supposedly resembles former New England Patriot safety Rodney Harrison allegedly stole a laptop and confronted a Pomeworth Street homeowner with possibly a screwdriver following a home break-in Friday afternoon, according to Stoneham Police Lt. Jim McIntyre. At 12:10 p.m., police received a call of a home break-in. The homeowner heard noises in their basement and discovered someone there, according to McIntyre. After being spotted, the suspect exited the home - which he gained entry to through force and not an unlocked door - and moments later reappeared with a what appeared to be a screwdriver and confronted the homeowner, according to McIntyre.
