There will be no changes to trash pickup on Monday, Nov. 12 even though it is the observed holiday for Veterans Day.
Trash will be picked up as usual on Monday in Stoneham, according to both Hiltz Waste Disposal. Trash, recycling and compost should be out by 7 a.m. for pickup, as always. Hiltz said on its Twitter account earlier this week that "Veterans Day will not affect pickups next week," and the Gloucester-based company said it will do pickup as usual in many of the North Shore towns where it has contracts, including Goveland, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Marblehead and Swampscott.

Today we observe Veterans Day, a national holiday established in 1926 to honor men and women who have served in the military. However, with the holiday falling on a Sunday government offices and some Stoneham businesses will be closed on Monday, Nov. 12.
