Twenty-four bands and musicians squared off in three separate regional contests: Greater Boston, North Shore/Merrimack Valley and South Shore/Cape Cod and the Islands. Nick Kermelewicz aka The President enjoyed the spoils of winning Patch's Video Battle of the Bands when he and 25 of his friends took a Bustonian party bus tour. That was the first part of his grand prize. The topper will be when he headlines a gig at The Harp in Boston June 28. The President will appear on the same bill as Battle of the Bands runners up The Truezoos and Forget the Former. The concert kicks off at 8 p.m. and will include 45-minute sets by The Truezoos and Forget the Former before Wakefield's The President finishes the show with a 90-minute set. Patch has created an Event Brite page so you can register for the free event. In addition to the great local bands, the event will feature Patch swag created just for the event. …

Recording artist and Wakefield resident Nick Kermelewicz is looking to make it big in the local music scene.
"If you don't like the way you're living, you can change that," raps Wakefield resident Nick Kermelewicz, known in the Boston music scene as The President. And he means it. A self-made musician, Kermelewicz, 21, is the winner of Patch's "Video Battle of the Bands," contest, the month-long competition that pitted local acts against one another and looked to the community to pick the top act. But Kermelewicz, who grew up north of Boston in Chelsea, is no stranger to success. He has already started his own production company called Jotdown Entertainment, and is now looking to make it as a recording artist. "I’ve just built myself up from my mom’s basement," he said. "I produce about 75 percent of my own music, and I work with a producer …
