The caller described the suspect as a 6-foot-tall man dressed in all black clothing brandishing a black handgun, according to police. The clerk refused to give the gunman money, according to police. The suspect fled the building toward the rear of the building, according to police. Medford K9 unit responded to the scene, according to police. No arrest logged. Police to file a report. Two Arrested for Attempted Break-In in North Reading

A Danvers man and Stoneham woman were arrested for attempting to break into a home on Marblehead Street on Thursday afternoon.

After receiving a tip from a resident, North Reading police arrested a Danvers man and a Stoneham woman on Marblehead Street for an attempted break-in Thursday.  According to police, around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, a resident reported that he saw a suspicious man and woman walking behind a neighbor's home. Police responded and saw the man and woman matching the description given by the resident. Both subjects attempted to run, police said, before complying with the officers. After an investigation, police were able to determine that the man and woman had attempted to break into a home on Marblehead Street and were interrupted when officers arrived, police said. The caller reported a child in the driveway screaming, according to police. Ruth St. Amand, 55, of 6 Middle St., Stoneham, was arrested and charged with assault and battery on child with injury and assault with a dangerous weapon. An ambulance was called to the scene to evaluate the child, according to police. Sept. 22 @12 a.m.: Police made a motor vehicle stop on Pomeworth Street. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.] At 7:11 p.m. Aug. 3, Stoneham police arrested Tammy Decarney, 35, of 18 Erickson St., Stoneham, and charged her with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Report to follow. Aug. 3 @2:15 p.m. Police were called after two males were illegally soliciting for a local Internet company by telling users that their service would be temporarily unavailable as they would be working on nearby services. Stoneham Woman Accused of Reckless Driving in Salem, N.H.

Sabrina Tofsky, 29, faces a felony charge of reckless conduct as well as other charges of disobeying a police officer, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest following an incident Friday night.

A Stoneham woman was arrested Friday night after she allegedly cursed at a Salem, N.H. officer who tried to pull her over and nearly hit another with her car on Route 28. Sabrina Tofsky, 29, now faces a felony charge of reckless conduct as well as other charges of disobeying a police officer, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.  Officer Steve McPherson was on patrol Friday at about 10:31 p.m. and saw two vehicles in the lot of Movie Scene and Devanti's Pizza after business hours. McPherson pulled in and confirmed one vehicle belonged to a Devanti's employee.
