State Rep. Jason Lewis won re-election, beating challenger George Georgountzos on election day Tuesday.

Lewis Beats Georgountzos in State Rep. Race

After losing six of seven precincts in his home town of Stoneham, State Rep. candidate George Georgountzos has conceded the victory to incumbent Jason Lewis.

After losing six of seven precincts in his home town of Stoneham Tuesday night, George Georgountzos conceded victory in the state representative race to incumbent Jason Lewis. After a long campaign season Chris Kellogg, campaign manger for Lewis, said the team and Lewis were excited for the win. "I am extraordinarily happy, and I did not expect Jason to do as well as he did," Kellogg said. "I really feel that it speaks to the quality of an individual of Jason because he did do so well." Kellogg also wished Georgountzos luck in his future political endeavors. Lewis, Georgountzos to Square Off in State Rep. Debate

The Winchester League of Women Voters is hosting the Day at the Races Candidate Forum starting at 7 p.m. Monday in the Stoneham Town Hall Auditorium.

State Rep. Jason Lewis and candidate George Georgountzos will face off in a public debate just before the third presidential debate tonight. The Winchester League of Women Voters is hosting the Day at the Races Candidate Forum starting at 7 p.m. at the Stoneham Town Hall Auditorium at 35 Central St., Stoneham. Patti Muldoon of the Arlington League of Women Voters will moderate the forum. Residents are invited to watch Lewis and Georgountzos go head-to-head on local issues raised by residents. The League requested questions from Winchester and Stoneham that will be used tonight. If you can't make it, the forum will be aired on WinCAM and Stoneham TV during Oct. 23 and Nov. 5. Lewis Bests DePinto for State Rep in Democratic Primary

Incumbent Jason Lewis defeated challenger John DePinto in the Democratic race for state representative in the State Primary Election Thursday, according to the Boston Globe.

Incumbent Jason Lewis defeated challenger John DePinto in the Democratic race for state representative in the state primary on Thursday,according to the Associated Press. Lewis rolled in Winchester, receiving 1,801 votes to DePinto's 215, according to unofficial AP results reported on boston.com. The race was much closer in Stoneham, where Lewis won by a margin of 109, getting 1,050 votes to DePinto's 941. Overall, Lewis received 2,851 votes in both towns, or 71.2 percent of the vote, and DePinto received 1,156 votes, or 28.8 percent. Lewis will be challenged in November by Republican candidate George Georgountzos, who won the Republican primary as he was unopposed.

State Rep. Jason Lewis is expected to have a Youth Voting Night in front of Stoneham Town Hall at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. He'll speak about the importance of voting.
