Salem Man Accused of Drunk Driving, Stealing a Car in Lowell

Jonathan Torres, 31, of Salem, faces several charges after allegedly leading area police officers on an early Wednesday morning search.

After leading area police departments on a search through the woods in Stoneham, a Salem man was arrested early Wednesday morning in the area of Route 93 southbound near the Route 128 northbound ramp, according to a State Police spokesperson. Jonathan Torres, 31, of Salem, faces several charges, including operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicating liquor, operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license, subsequent offense, receving stolen vehicle, refusing to stop for police and possession of burglary instruments, according to the spokesperson.
