Police: Clerk Throws 'Chili Powder' in Gunman's Face, Thwarts Robbery

The same suspect that recently committed five armed robberies—two in Stoneham—in the area attempted a sixth Sunday night at a Main Street convenience store in Stoneham, according to police.

The same suspect that recently committed five armed robberies—two in Stoneham—in the area attempted a sixth Sunday night at a Main Street convenience store in Stoneham, according to Stoneham Detective Christopher Dalis. At 9:21 p.m. on Veterans Day, police responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery at the C-Store, 41 Main St. "(The) suspect brandished a handgun; however, did not get any cash," Dalis said. "Clerk did not mace the suspect but did throw a cup of 'chili powder' in his face." The suspect fled the store toward George Street, according to Dalis, and a Massachusetts State Police K-9 unit was called in. Police: Convenience Store Clerk Injured In Armed Robbery

The DB Mart Convenience Store was robbed at about 9:30 p.m. Monday, according to police.

A convenience store clerk was injured in an armed robbery Monday night, according to police scanner reports. The DB Mart Convenience Store at 427 Main St. was robbed at knifepoint at about 9:30 p.m., NEFirebuff on Twitter reported. Stoneham police confirmed the robbery but would not give any more details other than to say it was under investigation. (More details will be added to this story as they become available.)

Video: Police Nab Suspected Serial Robber in Wakefield

A tip from a witness identifying the suspect's license plate led to the arrest of a man accused of robbing several area businesses, including a Dunkin' Donuts in Stoneham.

WAKEFIELD — A Natick man accused of robbing several businesses in the Stoneham area was taken into custody Jan. 5, police said. Eric Bjork, 39, of 11 Foskett Court, was arrested for allegedly robbing Revere Tanning Salon, 979 Main St., in Wakefield Jan. 4. Police are investigating whether or not Bjork also robbed two other local businesses on previous days - the Dunkin' Donuts at 128 Franklin Street in Stoneham, and an individual leaving a Bank of America ATM in front of the Kowloon Restaurant, 948 Broadway, in Saugus. A witness to the crime who was working at the tanning salon on the night of Jan. 4 said at first she didn't think it was an actual robbery. "He came up to the counter holding a kitchen knife and said, 'Give me the money,' …

Woburn Bank Held-Up This Afternoon

Police are searching for a man who reportedly held-up TD Bank, 280 Montvale Avenue, in Woburn this afternoon.

WOBURN — Police are investigating a report of a bank hold-up at the TD Bank, located at 280 Montvale Avenue, this afternoon. According to Woburn Police transmissions, dispatch received a report of a hold-up at the bank at 2:53 p.m. this afternoon. An officer was in the area and responded immediately. Police, with the help of Mass State Police officers, are searching the area. K-9 units from Winchester, Wilmington and Tewksbury were all called and are responding to the scene. According to authorities, the suspect in the hold-up is a white male in his 50s, with a mustache and gray beard, wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt, with the hood up, dark jeans, possibly black in color, sunglasses, a brown belt and a silver handgun in the belt.  …
