Natura Pet Products is expanding its recall of dry pet food and treats.
Natura Pet Products is voluntarily expanding its recall of dry pet food because of possible Salmonella contamination. The expanded recall includes all dry pet food products and treats with expiration dates prior to and including March 24, 2014. The Salmonella threat is not only for pets consuming the products, but humans handling the products, according to the FDA. The FDA said: Healthy people infected with Salmonella should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. Rarely, Salmonella can result in more serious ailments, including arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, and urinary tract symptoms. Consumers …

Rich Products Corporation has issued a voluntary recall on some of its products because of a possible E. coli contamination.
Rich Products Corporation has initiated a recall of its Farm Rich Mini Quesadillas, Farm Rich Mini Pizza Slices, Farm Rich Philly Cheese Steaks, Farm Rich Mozzarella Bites, Farm Rich Mini Bacon Cheeseburgers and Market Day Mozzarella Bites because of a possible E. coli contamination, according to CBS News. The Buffalo-based company is working with the USDA, FDA and CDC to determine how products manufactured in their Waycross, GA plant may have become contaminated with E. coli bacteria. The products were manufactured between Nov. 12 and Nov. 19 and have "Best By" dates between Jan. 1, 2013 and Sept. 29, 2014, which can be located on the back of the package on all of the products, according to information on the Farm Rich website. Bumble Bee has increased its voluntary recall to include more tuna fish cans.
A day after voluntarily recalling cans of tuna fish, Bumble Bee Foods expanded the recall to include more cans, according to the FDA. The reason for the recall is loose seals or seams that could result in product contamination "by spoilage organisms or pathogens and lead to illness if consumed." The problem was linked to a manufacturing line issue, which has been corrected, said the FDA. The recalled tuna fish was distributed for retail sale between Jan. 17 and March 6, 2013.
