Martorano, 42, of Charlestown, was arraigned this week in Quincy District Court on charges of unarmed robbery of a person age 60 or older, assault and battery on a disabled person age 60 or older and larceny over $250. Man Nabs $207 Worth of Razors from Rite Aid: Daniel Cunha, 32, of 9 Pinckney Place, was arrested at 299 Broadway and charged with drug possession and shoplifting. According to a police report, Cunha walked into the Rite Aid on Broadway in Winter Hill, went directly to the shaving razor section and began stuffing razors—$207 worth—into his pockets.  Father, Son Arraigned in Little League …

Seven Dozen Beer Cans and Bottles Found in Party House

The only adult arrested in connection with an underage drinking party on Friday night in Hamilton pleaded not guilty in court on Tuesday.

Police found three dozen empty beer bottles and cans and another four dozen full beer cans and bottles in a home where an alleged underage drinking party was broken up by police last Friday in Hamilton. The only teenager that was charged as an adult in connection with the alleged underage drinking party pleaded not guilty to charges in connection to the party in Ipswich District Court on Tuesday. Kadoura was arrested after police were called to a lower Asbury Street home on Feb. 18 at about 8:30 p.m. because youths were repeatedly going in and out of the home. Police later found that the partygoers weren't even allowed to be in the home. Ali Kadoura, 18, of Stoneham, was charged with two misdemeanors – possession of liquor by a person …

Second Suspect in Home Invasion Turns Himself in to Police

Police recently searched the Junta residence, home of "Hockey Dad" Thomas Junta.

READING — The second suspect in Monday's Reading Commons home invasion turned himself in to police in the company of his attorney Tuesday, according to a release from the Reading Police Department. Police said the victim identified Quinlan Junta, the 21-year-old son of “Hockey Dad” Thomas Junta, as one of two assailants who struck him with a black handgun, beat him, then stole a “substantial amount of money.” When speaking to media Monday, police called Junta a “person of interest” in the crime and said they would like to speak to him. Officers got that opportunity Tuesday when Junta arrived with an attorney at the station. Police arrested him before he was arraigned at Woburn District Court and charged him with home invasion, armed …

Stoneham Police responded to plenty of snowstorm-related calls and other issues between Jan. 24-27.

The Stoneham Police Department fielded a variety of calls between Jan. 24 - 27, in the wake of the latest snowstorm to hit the region. Calls included parked vehicles inhibiting snow removal, plows pushing snow into the street, and building checks on school snow days. Here are some excerpts from the police log: Jan. 24 @9:55 a.m.: Police responded to a call from SEEM Collaborative's Campus Academy on Williams Street, due to reports of an out of control student. A juvenile female was arrested; charges included assault with a dangerous weapon and destruction of property. @10:19 a.m.: A caller reported suspicious motor vehicle in front of a residence on Peters Drive.  @3:03 p.m.: A franchisee reportedly threatened a business owner on Maple …

Ahern Family Charitable Foundation Raises $15,000 for Military Reservists

Former Massachusetts State Trooper Bob Ahern of Stoneham was deeply affected, like so many others, by the tragedy of 9/11. He has since spearheaded several fundraisers to support various causes, including helping out homeless veterans.

Former Massachusetts State Trooper Bob Ahern of Stoneham was deeply affected, like so many others, by the tragedy of 9/11. His father, two brothers and he were slated to attend the Metal of Honor Convention in Boston that year on Sept. 14. Ahern, who was in the Army Reserve and the Massachusetts National Guard for nine years, said he "knew there was no question the U.S. was going to war" after the attack.  When Ahern and his family attended the postponed event in October, he was particularly struck by speaker Tom Lyons, the then Executive Director of the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans (NESHV).
