The Boston Bruins Alumni squad beat the Ninety Nine Restaurants team, 15-11, Sunday in a game to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham.
STONEHAM — In a spirited hockey game to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham Sunday at Stoneham Arena, the Boston Bruins Alumni squad narrowly beat the "99 Legends" of the Ninety Nine Restaurants, 15-11. Several former Bruins participated in the game and Stoneham native and Olympic medal-winning skater Nancy Kerrigan also was on-hand for the ceremonial puck drop. The money raised at the game is expected to be used toward the purchase of a Club van.

Massachusetts High School Drama Guild Festival set to begin March 5 at Sharon High School.
The Stoneham High School Drama Club held an open dress rehearsal of Woody Allen's "God," a 40-minute play that they will perform at the Massachusetts High School Drama Guild festival at Sharon High School on Saturday. While their season came to a close Wednesday night in Walpole, the Stoneham High School girls' hockey team still had a successful year overall.
The Stoneham High School girls' hockey team saw their season come to an end Wednesday night after falling at the hands of the Lady Rebels of Walpole High, 5-3, in the preliminary round of the state tournament. Despite the setback, the Lady Spartans fought hard until the final seconds ticked off the clock on their 2010-11 season. Stoneham finishes the season with an overall mark of 8-7-2 and a young talented group that promises to make some noise in future postseason play should the core stay together and continue to develop. Without question, the 2010-11 season was a difficult one for the Stoneham High School boys' basketball team. The Spartans (4-19 overall, 2-16 in Middlesex League games) finished well below .500 and failed to qualify for the state tournament; however, that doesn't mean the squad didn't play hard and leave everything they had out on the floor. With that in mind, we take a look back at the Spartans' season that was captured through the lenses of Stoneham Patch's photographers.

STONEHAM — After dropping their Dec. 15 home opener to Wakefield, the Stoneham High School boys' hockey team earned their first home victory of the season by beating the Watertown Red Raiders 5-1 Wednesday night at Stoneham Arena. Coincidently, the Spartans (1-1) won by the same score they lost their first contest of the season. The boys' hockey team will look to pick up their second consecutive win when they play Burlington Dec. 29 at 7:45 p.m. at Burlington Ice Palace, 36 Ray Ave. Stoneham Girls' Hockey Blanked by Watertown However, the Stoneham girls' hockey team wasn't as fortunate as their male counterparts, getting shutout by the Red Raiders, 4-0.
