Patriots AFC Championship Tickets Go on Sale Thursday

A limited number of tickets to the Jan. 20 AFC Championship Game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough go on sale to the general public on Thursday, Jan. 17.

For the ninth time in 20 playoff appearances, the New England Patriots are just one game from advancing to the Super Bowl. That game will be played at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m. against the Baltimore Ravens. It is the second consecutive season the Patriots and Ravens will meet in the AFC Championship game at Gillette Stadium. New England beat Baltimore in last season’s AFC title game, 23-20 to advance to Super Bowl XLVI. The Patriots are 7-1 all-time in AFC Championship Games, including 4-0 in Foxborough (3-0 at Gillette Stadium) but just 1-1 against the Ravens in the postseason. Baltimore defeated the Patriots, 33-14 in the 2009-10 AFC Wild Card game at Gillette Stadium on Jan. 10, 2010. However, the Patriots are 6-2…

Stoneham High School football coach Bob Almeida received the Patriots Head Coach of the Week award Tuesday morning from NFL Hall of Fame Inductee and former New England Patriots linebacker Andre Tippett.

Stoneham High School football coach Bob Almeida received the Patriots Head Coach of the Week award Tuesday morning from NFL Hall of Fame Inductee and former New England Patriots linebacker Andre Tippett. Almeida, who previously coached the football program at Wilmington High School, was given his award during a brief presentation at the Stoneham High gymnasium. Additionally, the Stoneham High football program will receive $1,000. The Stoneham coach is receiving the award after leading the Spartans to their seventh consecutive victory Friday against his former team, Wilmington. Andre Tippett, Patriots to Honor Bob Almeida as Coach of the Week

NFL Hall of Fame inductee and former New England Patriot Andre Tippett will be honoring Bob Almeida as the Patriots High School Coach of the Week on Tuesday.

Stoneham High School football coach Bob Almeida will be honored by NFL Hall of Fame Inductee and former New England Patriot Andre Tippett as the Patriots High School Coach of the Week on Tuesday, according to a Patriots spokesperson. Tippett is expected to arrive around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a presentation at 11 a.m., according to Daniel McPherson, communications director for the Patriots. Almeida and the Spartans remain undefeated to start the season, improving to 7-0 after beating Wilmington 26-7 on Friday. Almeida is receiving the honor "for their impressive win this past Friday and for turning the team from 2-9 last season to start this season 7-0," said McPherson.
