DPW: Trash Pickup on Normal Schedule, Tree Down on Franklin Street

Find out how the Stoneham Department of Public Works is handling their storm operations on Monday.

While Hurricane Sandy may hit Stoneham Monday morning, the curbside trash pickup will be operating on a normal schedule, according to Department of Public Works Director Robert Grover. To see the town's curbside pickup schedule, check out this article. Even though Stoneham hasn't faced the brunt of the storm yet, a tree came down on Franklin Street shortly before 8 a.m. Monday, according to Grover. A crew was responding to the area to take care of the situation. As for the storm operations, Grover discussed the DPW's action plan. "We're going around checking all of the low spots in town to make sure the catch basins are as clear as they can be, and we're also checking the headwalls on the drainage so if we get a lot of rain it will keep …
