Terms Set For Home Confinement of Wife in Child Sex Abuse Case

Marian Burbine, whose husband John Burbine is facing nearly 100 sexual abuse-related charges, made her court appearance Thursday morning. She is expected to return to court Feb. 13.

Marian Burbine made a brief court appearance on Thursday morning, largely to set the terms of her ongoing home confinement in connection with the child sex abuse case against her husband John Burbine. Burbine and her husband operated the former Waterfall Education Center in downtown Wakefield, and also offered tutoring and day care services that would reportedly often take place at the children's homes. Her husband had been classified as a Level 1 sex offender back in 1989, which has touched off a separate legislative debate over how to reform the current system used to share information on sex offenders. Middlesex Sheriff's Department Sergeant Guilty on Cocaine Charges

The sheriff's officer was pressuring an inmate for money and drugs and conducted a drug transaction with an undercover state trooper, according to the district attorney's office.

Michael Dell'Isola, 52, of Somerville, a sergeant with the Middlesex County Sheriff's Department, was found guilty Wednesday on charges that he received money and cocaine from an undercover state trooper, according to an announcement from the Middlesex District Attorney's office. Dell'Isola was found guilty after a six-day jury trial in Middlesex Superior Court, the announcement said. According to a press statement from Middlesex County District Attorney Gerard Leone, "This defendant abused his position of authority by participating in illegal drug activities while on duty as a sergeant in the Middlesex Sheriff's Department." Stoneham Man Pleads Guilty to Assaulting Local Woman

Stacey Jones pleaded guilty to multiple charges in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn Monday.

A Stoneham man pleaded guilty Monday in a Woburn court that he assaulted a woman in her home last December, according to a press statement by Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone's office. Stacey Jones, 35, pleaded guilty in Middlesex Superior Court to charges of assault, assault and battery, and making threats, according to the statement. On the assault charge, Judge Mitchell Kaplan sentenced the defendant to two and a half years in the House of Correction, 18 months to be served, with the balance suspended for three years, reads the statement. On the charge of making threats, the defendant was sentenced to six months in the House of Correction to be served concurrently and for the assault and battery charge he received three years …

Stoneham Man Pleaded Not Guilty to Murdering Young Son

Brian Saucier, 41, was arraigned Friday morning in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn.

A Stoneham man charged with killing his young son pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Friday morning in a Woburn court. Brian Saucier, 41, was arraigned Friday at 10:15 a.m. in Middlesex Superior Court. He was indicted Thursday by a grand jury on one count of first-degree murder for allegedly shaking his infant son, causing serious injuries that resulted in his death eight years later. Assistant District Attorney Katharine Folger requested Saucier remain held without bail. According to Folger, Saucier is currently being held at MCI-Concord after previously being found guilty of assault and battery on a child causing bodily injury. He is currently serving a 9-10 year prison sentence. The defense did not contest the request by the …

Developers of a residential and office complexes at the former Boston Regional Medical Center in Stoneham won a court battle recently with a group of doctors at odds with the developers over traffic changes caused by the project and the group may need to pay millions of dollars in damages, according to a Boston Globe report. Middlesex District Court Judge H.J. Smith Jr. ruled that the board of a medical condominium at the old hospital site did not have the authority to appeal traffic changes approved by the Stoneham zoning board for the proposed Langwood Commons development at the site, reports the Globe. Sergeant in Sheriff's Office Arraigned on Cocaine Trafficking Charge

The Middlesex District Attorney's Office alleges that Michael Dell'Isola of Somerville accepted cocaine and $500 from an undercover Mass. State Trooper.

A sergeant with the Middlesex Sheriff’s Department was arraigned Wednesday on drug charges after he allegedly received cocaine and money from an undercover state trooper, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone recently announced in a press statement. Michael Dell’Isola, 51, of Somerville, was arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn on a charge of trafficking cocaine. First Assistant Clerk Magistrate Matthew Day ordered the defendant held on $1,000 cash bail. His next court date is July 20 for a pretrial conference.  In April 2011, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office received information regarding Dell'Isola's alleged trafficking, the press release said. The Olympic skater has been supportive of her brother, Mark Kerrigan, who is on trial for manslaughter following the death of their father last year in Stoneham.

Jury selection begins Friday in Woburn Superior Court in the manslaughter trial of Mark Kerrigan who is accused of causing his father's death more than a year ago in Stoneham. Mark Kerrigan, of Stoneham, is the brother of Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan who is expected to be called as a witness by the prosecution. Their father Daniel Kerrigan died in his Stoneham home during a struggle with Mark.
