Five Things: Meetings, Meditation and Spartans Fall

A quartet of meetings: The Stoneham Housing Authority will meet at 4 p.m. at 11 Parker Chase Road; the School Building Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. in high school teachers’ dining room; the Library Board of Trustees will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the library’s Stoneham Room; and the town’s Finance and Advisory Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. 2. Spartans ousted: After a great run, the Stoneham High girls’ soccer team was finally knocked out of the Division 2 North sectional Saturday. The second-seeded Spartans fell to No. 1 Newburyport 1-0 in penalty kicks in the sectional final at Manning Field in Lynn. The Spartans finish the season 15-2-5. 3.
