Tax Rate Breakdown: How Does Stoneham Compare to Other Municipalities?

Stoneham's rates are below regional averages.

Stoneham's tax rates are set to rise in 2011, but they're still lower than most communities in the region. The Stoneham Board of Selectmen set the tax rates last year, approving a 72-cent rise per $1,000 of value in residential property tax and a 76-cent increase per $1,000 of value in the commercial, industrial and personal (CIP) property tax. Stoneham's residential tax rate is 53 cents lower than the average tax rate of 23 communities in the region, and its CIP rate is $5.47 lower.
