Ice Scare at Dark Hollow Pond 'False Alarm'
A scanner transmission indicates the area is all clear.
Update: A transmission over the State Police frequency indicates the search has ended and was considered a "false alarm." Original story: Emergency personnel are searching Dark Hollow Pond for "unconfirmed persons under ice," after a break near a known icefishing spot raised concerns Saturday night. It remains unclear whether the victims fell into the water. According to scanner reports, ice fisherman were seen around the area of the break "earlier today." Authorities are taking the concerns seriously, dispatching Massachusetts State Police, the Stoneham Fire Department and an Airwing Unit to search the area. More info to come as it becomes available.
