Braintree Developer to Buy Weiss Farm in Stoneham

John M. Corcoran and Company, a Braintree-based developer, will purchase the 26-acre Weiss Farm property in Stoneham for a planned apartment complex with an affordable housing component, according to The Stoneham Independent.

The newspaper reportedly obtained a letter from Weiss Farm owner Donna Weiss to the community, stating that she has reached an agreement with John M. Corcoran and Company, of Braintree, to sell her parcel of land for a development that could include upwards of 300 apartment units. The property is located at 170 Franklin St. near the Melrose line. Mike G - Take a ride through the square some evening, and have a good, long look at "The Residences at Stoneham Square." There are lights on in *maybe* a half dozen of the apartments/condos. Many, if not most, of the existing apartment buildings around town also have plenty of vacancies. The town keeps approving more housing, but they're doing nothing to entice businesses here.
