Stoneham High School Doesn't Crack Top 50 Boston Magazine Schools

The magazine used a variety of statistics to compile its list. See how Stoneham fared in a variety of categories.

Boston Magazine recently compiled its list of 222 Boston-area public and charter high schools and also narrowed down the top 50 schools in the area based on a variety of statistics, and Stoneham High School found itself in the middle of the pack in a variety of categories. The school didn't find its way onto the Top 50 list in the magazine. Weston High School took top honors followed by Lexington High, Dover-Sherborn Regional High, Concord-Carlisle High and Wellesley Senior High. Schools in the Stoneham region that made the list include Andover High School (No. 27), Reading Memorial High School (No. 38) and Burlington High School at No. 43. Oh and by the way, because of the state of stoneham's school system, we are home schooling, even when we can only scrape by as our taxed increase yearly to pay for such great services such as knitting.   more ›

Report: Stoneham Schools 69th on Boston Magazine's Best Schools List

In Boston Magazine's annual ranking of public schools in the region featured in the September 2011 issue, the Stoneham Public School district comes in at 69 out of 135 districts. Last year, the magazine ranked high schools specifically and ranked Stoneham High School 56th. Nearby school districts on the list include: According the Boston Magazine's website, to compile the rankings, magazine staffers compared test scores from elementary, middle, and high schools in 135 districts, then compared to past scores to determine whether the scores were improving or not.
