POLICE LOG: Stoneham Woman Accused of Assaulting Child

Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.] At 5:49 p.m. Sept. 23, Stoneham Police responded to Middle Street for a report of an unknown disturbance. The caller reported a child in the driveway screaming, according to police. Ruth St. Amand, 55, of 6 Middle St., Stoneham, was arrested and charged with assault and battery on child with injury and assault with a dangerous weapon. An ambulance was called to the scene to evaluate the child, according to police. Sept. 22 @12 a.m.: Police made a motor vehicle stop on Pomeworth Street. POLICE LOG: Stoneham Man Charged With Attempted Arson

Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.] At 8:30 a.m. June 24, Stoneham police responded to Main Street for a disturbance call about an unwanted man at the residence. Shortly thereafter, a box alarm was activated on a report of a natural gas leak in the building. The male suspect, described as wearing black shorts, a red shirt and had a crewcut, fled through the back door. A K-9 broadcast was put out and a State Police K-9 team was en route.
