Police: Stoneham Armed Robber Strikes Again; Robs Reading Gas Station

Police believe a masked gunman who robbed a Gulf Gas Station in Reading late Thursday night is the same suspect in five Stoneham area armed robberies and an attempted armed robbery Sunday night at a convenience store in Stoneham.

Police believe a masked gunman who robbed a Reading gas station late Thursday night is the same suspect in five Stoneham area armed robberies and an attempted armed robbery Sunday night at a convenience store in Stoneham. The Gulf Gas Station on Main Street in Reading was robbed of several hundred dollars Thursday evening at approximately 10:45 p.m., according to Reading Police. The suspect was described as a white male, approximately six feet tall and 180 pounds. He was wearing black pants, a black sweatshirt with a hood and a mask.  The suspect made it a point to show his black handgun to the clerk before he took several hundred dollars, according to police. Did Stop N Save Robber Attempt Another Armed Robbery in Stoneham?

A man wearing a black hoodie and mask was unsuccessful in his bid to rob Main Street Auto Service Tuesday night, according to police. Police believe the suspect is the same person involved with two armed robberies at Stop N Save.

A masked gunman attempting to rob a Main Street gas station Tuesday night may be the same suspect in two previous robberies at the Stop N Save on Franklin Street, according to police. At about 8:40 p.m., Stoneham officers responded to Main Street Auto Service, 308 Main St., on a report of an attempted armed robbery. "The front door of the gas station was locked and the suspect tried to gain entry but obviously the door was locked," said Police chief Richard Bongiorno. "He demanded entry, showed a large black handgun and tried to get the door open."
