Globe Lauds Brownsberger for Transparency

I have made it a priority to be “transparent” in my actions both as a public official and as a candidate for Congress. You have the right to know every promise that I make as I seek office.

During my current effort to win the October 15 Democratic primary to succeed Ed Markey in Congress, many organizations have requested me to fill out questionnaires I stating my positions on issues of concern to them. I have posted my responses to these questionnaires on my website, where you are free to review them. To the best of my knowledge, no other candidate in the race has taken this step -- you don’t know what promises they have made to various interest groups.

On Sunday, Sept. 8, The Boston Globe  ran an editorial titled “Openness on political questionnaires: Brownsberger sets the standard.” The Globe said in part, “State Senator Will Brownsberger, who is running for the US House in the Fifth District, has set a new benchmark for political transparency.” I encourage you to follow the link and read the full Globe editorial. Then go to my website, highlight “about” on the main menu, and click on “questionnaire responses.” Let me know what you think!

I believe that openness is a critical part of how I serve as a State Senator today, and how I will continue to serve you as a member of the U.S. Congress. Please don’t forget to vote on October 15!
