Strong Turnout for Bruins Alumni Benefit Game

The Bruins Alumni squad bested the Ninety Nine Legends 15-12 on Sunday night at Stoneham Arena.

On Sunday night, the Bruins Alumni hit the ice to play against the Ninety Nine Legends in a hockey game to benefit the and Lynn.

The Stoneham Arena was full of Club families and local supporters who all came together to watch an exciting game and show their support for these two Boys & Girls Clubs.

, the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham partnered with the Ninety Nine Restaurant and the Bruins Alumni team. As a result, the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham was able to , which has been a great addition. Once again, this event proved to be a very successful event for all of those involved.

It was clear that everyone at the game had a great time and enjoyed watching some of their favorite classic Bruins Alumni play Sunday night. Some of the players featured in this game included Rick Middleton, Reggie Lemelin, Bob Sweeney and Stoneham resident Frank Simonetti. In addition, Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham member, Ty Foley, joined the Bruins Alumni team and was able to tally a hat trick.

The Bruins Alumni team from the outset scored a barrage of goals and started with strong intensity on the ice. Their defense through the first period was nearly impeccable, only allowing one goal from Ninety Nine player Randy Suckney. The Bruins Alumni team’s offense stood out most of all during the first period, racking up 10 goals.

In the second period, the Ninety Nine team was able to gather some momentum and go on a scoring spree of their own. The Ninety Nine team rallied and was able to score 11 goals in the last period of play and slowing the Bruins Alumni team’s offensive production. Still, the Bruins Alumni team was able to maintain their lead through the end of the game and concluded with a 15-12 victory.

This great event would not have been possible without the hard work of Randy Suckney and the 's staff. Also, the Bruins Alumni, , , and the Keystone Clubs of the Boys & Girls Club of Lynn and of Stoneham all assisted in making this a successful event.
