Stoneham Fire Department to Host Touch-A-Truck Fundraiser

The event is slated for Saturday, Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the rear parking lot of Redstone Shopping Center on Main Street.

The will hosting a Touch-a-Truck event on Aug. 11, 2012 in the rear parking lot of Redstone Shopping Center on Main Street, according to a press statement.

The free event, which will be held raise or shine, will be held in conjunction with the fire department's annual Fill the Boot fundraising drive in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., children will be able to see, touch, explore and honk the horns of their favorite fire trucks and emergency vehicles. The Stoneham Department of Public Works is also expected to showcase some of their newest equipment, alongside vehicles from the Middlesex County Sheriff's Office, the North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC) Swat Team and vehicles from the military many local businesses.

By making a donation, guests of the event can try to sink a firefighter or volunteer in the dunk tank.
