Stoneham Baseball Falls to Lynnfield in Second Round of State Tournament

The Stoneham High School baseball team was narrowly defeated by Lynnfield High 2-1 Sunday afternoon in Lynnfield. The Spartans were eliminated from the playoffs.

The No. 16-ranked  baseball team was narrowly defeated by top-ranked Lynnfield High 2-1 Sunday afternoon in Lynnfield. The Spartans were eliminated from the playoffs.

Stoneham entered the tournament with a record of 9-11 before going 1-1 in the playoffs. Earlier this week the Spartans defeated Madison Park in the preliminary round of the tournament before falling to Lynnfield High School on the road.

Stoneham's game against Lynnfield that was originally scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. in Lynnfield was to Sunday at 1 p.m. due to rain.
