WAKEFIELD — The baseball team took a 5-4 lead into the sixth against Wakefield Memorial High on Tuesday, but Warrior senior captain Connor O'Brien belted a two-run homer to give Wakefield the 6-5 win.
Mike Kelly led off the first with a triple and then came around to score as Stoneham put up three runs, but the Warriors answered right back in the bottom of the frame with three runs of their own.
The defeat was the Spartans fourth one-run loss on the season, dropping them to 2-9 overall on the season just one day after picking up their second win of the year, a 5-1 win against Watertown.
