Dec 24th through January 1 is called Christmas Vacation. It is when Christ was born. To call it anything else is a Communist invention.

In our own homes, we are free to call it Christmas vacation, winter vacation, holiday vacation, December vacation, the Vacation Formerly Known as Prince vacation, etc. But this is a website posting meant to simply inform parents of how to plan their calendars for the school year, not a forum on political correctness.

It's a Christmas miracle that our school committee could even complete a calendar.

I went to the Pomeworth meeting on Tuesday night. I told the Selectmen that they were on notice that the towns liability would not be insulated for wanton, willful and reckless behavior. Sending children down Washington Street with no sidewalks, cars pulling up onto the sidewalk to park, increased traffic and no police detail was absurd. I asked if Shawmut could pay for detail, if we could have additional crossing guards from other schools, pave a field and let parents park...NO. Also, the sidewalk fund has not been funded in years. I am going to contact DOA regarding busing for particularly hazardous commute. Thoughts?
