DePinto hopes taking the "fireside chat" to new media will open the communication gates with even further for voters, and increase voter turnout at the polls on Sept. 6.

"FDR's fireside chat brought the politician and the family together to talk about virtues, change, honor," said DePinto in the statement. "It bridged the gap between individuals and their politician. I want to do the same thing. Only this time, the family is hanging out by the computer instead of the radio."
