Scott Brown and Elizabeth Warren to Debate Thursday Night on WBZ

The two candidates for the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts will square off for the first time in a live televised debate at WBZ studios in Boston.

U.S. Senate candidates Scott Brown and Elizabeth Warren will go head to head on Thursday night in a live televised debate at WBZ studios in Boston.

The debate, the first in a series of four, will take place on Sept. 20th from 7 to 8 p.m. on WBZ-TV, WBZ Newsradio 1030 and CBS Boston.com.

Jon Keller, WBZ-TV News’ Political Analyst will serve as moderator of the debate.

“Debates are an opportunity to get beyond the sound bites and find out where the candidates really stand,” said Senator Brown in a statement. “... I am pleased to accept this TV debate offer so that Massachusetts voters will be able to see these differences for themselves.”

Warren told CBS Boston she plans to “Talk about what I’ve been talking about all around the Commonwealth for a year now, and that is, the game is rigged.”

This first televised debate comes at a time when Warren has taken the lead in recent polling among likely Massachusetts voters.

Future debates will be held on Oct. 1 at UMass Lowell, Oct. 10 in Springfield, and Oct. 30 on WGBH.

I hope Ms Warren explains her justification of leading Occupy Wall Street as a political stool to increase her publicity. Occupy Wall Street cost city's and towns around the US Millions of tax dollars and accomplished very little. A rebel like Warren has no use in politics besides costing taxpayers millions for the side show.

After the debate 99% Brown 1% Warren. Ms Warren was not prepared and has no clue what se's doing. I don't want her lack of experience fighting for me as she did for the poor asbestos workers. Shame on her :-o Warren received a 0% student loan????????? Talk about taking advantage of the system. Which one of her pockets will she line with our tax money if she gets in office??? Looks to me like she's out for herself using us poor tax payes as an excuse.

Wow. Scott Brown's campaign is getting desperate, and it shows. He had nothing to offer tonight but personal attacks and evasions about his own record. Kudos to Elizabeth Warren for sticking to the issues. No wonder she's pulling ahead. Also, who told Brown that "professor" is an insult? He spits out the word like a schoolyard bully.

Sorry Alan but Scott Brown was right. Warren hasn't showed me she has the ability to be truthful. She lied about her heritage to get a zero interest school loan and hung poor asbestos workers out to die for a $250K payment. We don't need her style representing our tax money.
