The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority will be switching mobile parking payment providers from Parkmobile toPayByPhone technologies, the MBTA said Monday

What does this mean for MBTA riders? Parkmobile will end service at MBTA parking lots on Saturday, Feb. 1, after which time all Parkmobile customers will need to sign up with PayByPhone, according to the announcement.

Riders can register for a free account at paybyphone.com, or download their app from their app store. MBTA patrons can also register and park using ParkByPhone's dial-in service at 1-866-234-7275.

Would be nice if instead of focusing on parking issues they focus on fixing their run down trains, that have the metal peeling off and rusting, Intercoms that don't work. Orange line attendants who don't even bother to read off the stops, and have more MBTA Police on the train platforms In pedestrian tunnels etc etc and fix the switching issues on the tracks.

Its really scary when the intercoms don't work. on the orange line. What would happen say if there was a fire in one of the cars, and they tried to warn other people to get out and people int he back cars had no clue what to do or what was going on...we'd all burn alive. MBTA needs to fix the intercoms.
