Lewis Opens Campaign Headquarters in Malden Center

State Senate candidate Jason Lewis opened his campaign headquarters in Malden Center on Saturday.

State Senate candidate Jason Lewis opened his campaign headquarters in Malden Center on Saturday, according to a press statement.

Lewis, a Democrat from Winchester who represents Stoneham as a State Representative, was joined by supporters and local activists at the opening of his new headquarters, located on the fourth floor at 422 Main St. in Malden, at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 11.

Among the activities planned for the event were a brief question-and-answer session, followed by canvassing and phone banking in the afternoon.

Lewis, who is taking over the former Katherine Clark for Congress office in Malden, is vying for the vacant 5th Middlesex Senate District seat left by Clark.

In December, Clark, a Democrat from Melrose, defeated Republican challenger Frank Addivinola Jr. for the 5th Congressional District seat left vacant by former Congressman Edward Markey, who was elected as a U.S. Senator in 2013.

The state primary is set for March 4, and the special state election is slated for April 1, according to the Secretary of State website.
