Coming Soon: Stoneham Town Day
Stoneham's 28th annual Town Day will be celebrated on Saturday and kicks off at 11 a.m. at the Town Common.
Get ready to celebrate Stoneham! On Saturday, Sept. 17, Main Street, the and the surrounding area will be transformed into a fair atmosphere with food, games, vendors, music and more.
Honoring the fallen
Everything kicks off at 11 a.m. at the Town Common with a moment of silence for those that died in the 9/11 tragedies. Following this will be a flag raising by the American Legion Post #115 Honor Guard and a welcome speech from town chairpersons. All this will be hosted by MC, Peter May of The Sound Experience.

Then the fun begins!
“We will have a giant slide to benefit the Jimmy Fund, a moonwalk, an Aztec ride, a ride called the Sky Fighter and various other amusement park rides from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the corner of Emerson and Central Streets,” said Sharon Iovanni, executive director of the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce. “There will also be a carousel, obstacle course and ZooMobile from the in the same spot.”

Keeping healthy and safe
Also participating will be a Seventh-Day Adventist blood pressure van where people can check their vitals and get information on healthy heart rates and blood pressure numbers. Emergency management vehicles from the Middlesex County Sheriff's Department and Stoneham and departments will also be on-hand.
Booths all around
If this wasn't enough, Iovanni mentioned, “there will be over 100 fun-filled and information-packed booths occupied by friends, neighbors and various Stoneham business vendors.”
These booths will provide a variety of activities or things for sale including food, face-painting, raffles, bake sales and demonstrations, to name a few things.
Dance the day away
Music will be coming from two places. The first is the main stage at the Town Common where Battle of the Bands winner, Kingsley Flood, will open for musicians Brett Dennen and Augustana from 2-4 p.m.
Before that, the Stoneham Stage (at the intersection of Central and Emerson) will feature P.J. the D.J. from noon–1:30 p.m. P.J. will bust out the jams for various dances troupes in Stoneham including Body Mind Harmony, , and 's young company.
The event runs from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
