Two Men Indicted on Stoneham Murder Charges

The indictments were announced Thursday.

The two men charged with a double shooting in Stoneham on July 3 that killed one man and injured another have been indicted on the charges, according to a release from the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.

Jessie Williams, 24, of Medford, and Eugene Tate, 19, of Malden, were indicted by a Middlesex Grand Jury on the following charges: murder, armed assault with intent to murder, armed assault in a dwelling, assault with a dangerous weapon, armed robbery and illegal possession of a firearm.

On Thursday, the district attorney’s office also announced that a Medford police officer has been indicted for allegedly lying to police and removing evidence from the home in order to cover up the drug deal that preceded the shooting.

The shooting left 27-year-old Joseph Puopolo dead and a 28-year-old man injured. The 28-year-old man has been released from the hospital.
