Stoneham Police Looking into Bogus Boston Bruins Ticket Seller

The following information was supplied by the Stoneham Police Department.

The Stoneham Police are currently looking into someone who is selling bogus Boston Bruins tickets. A woman told the Westford Police that she was the victim of a ticket scam that impacted others in the area on December 19.

“There have been two incidents involving the same seats and the same row,” Det. Robert McKinnon. “This individual is duplicating printed tickets and selling them on Craigslist. One ticket is legit, the others are fakes. Hardcopy tickets are usually good.”

The ticket holder has no way of verifying the authenticity of tickets until the ticket taker at the TD Garden scans the barcode. The Stoneham Police are currently investigating these scams.

Odd they can't do counterfeit measures like the do on dollar bills like holograms or images that show up on the ticket to show its real...so people could know before hand. Why people still buy from scalpers is beyond me though 95% of them are fakes.

the moral of the story is DONT BUY ON CRAIGSLIST - Craigslist is a JOKE for everything! and Don't buy from Scalpers pay extra money and buy REAL TICKETS From ACE Ticket or better yet the TD garden Boxoffice or ticketmaster.com. Even Stubhub has some issues so be careful. As a ticket taker at TD garden I once had to turn away a group of 10 people who had visited Boston all weekend from Montreal to see the Montreal Boston playoff game in 2011 and they spent money on hotels, gas, sightseeing , dinner, etc. and were turned away at the turnstiles. They had paid a scalper outside about $1000 each for the tickets.
