UPDATED: Brush Fire Extinguished Quickly in Stoneham

The brush fire Wednesday afternoon was in the same area of the Middlesex Fells Reservation as Monday's fire near the edge of I-93 near Exit 34 northbound in Stoneham.

A brush fire in the Middlesex Fells Reservation along the edge of I-93 near the Medford-Stoneham border Wednesday afternoon was quickly extinguished, according to Stoneham Fire Lieutenant Matthew Rexrode.

The fire was in the same area as the brush fires that broke out Monday afternoon near Exit 34 northbound of I-93, according to Rexrode.

Stoneham Engine 3 put the fire out quickly, according to Rexrode. Medford firefighters were also called to the scene, added the lieutenant.
