Police: UPS Truck Strikes a Hydrant in Stoneham

At 2:04 p.m. Aug. 7, Stoneham police responded to Summer Street on a report of an single-vehicle crash, according to a police log. The caller reported that an UPS truck struck a hydrant, according to the log. No tows or transports logged.

Aug. 6

11:38 a.m.: Police received a parking complaint on Richardson Lane, according to a police log. The caller reported multiple cars parked in the no parking area, according to the log. Four vehicles were ticketed, the log adds.

3:47 p.m.: Police responded to the area of Unicorn Avenue and William Street for a report of a two-car accident, according to a police log. No tows or transports logged. Insurance paperwork was exchanged, the log notes.

Aug. 7

1:14 a.m.: Police called to Rodgers Road for a report of dumping, according to a police log. The caller claimed that walkway garden lights were thrown in the street and her driveway, according to the log. The woman was unsure where the lights came from, the log adds. No suspects were found in the area, according to the log. 

8:11 a.m.: Police called to Main Street for a report of a two-car crash, according to a police log. No tows or transports logged.

8:57 a.m.: Police responded to a two-car crash on Park Street, according to a police log. State Police took over the accident scene, according to the log. Two patients declined medical treatment, the log adds. No tows logged.

9:15 a.m.: Police called to the area of Governor Road and Main Street for a report of a past accident, according to a police log. The caller claims that around 9:05 a.m. while he was making a right turn onto Main Street, he either struck a pedestrian or a man kicked the side of his vehicle, according to the log. The driver stopped and spoke with the man, who had some type of minor leg injury and eventually made his way walking north, according to the log. The injured man did not provide the driver with any information, according to the log. 

4:34 p.m.: Police responded to the area of Green and Elm Streets for a report of a suspicious vehicle, according to a police log. The caller reported a van that was parked at the same location for a week with out-of-state license plates, according to the log. An officer checked the vehicle to see if there was anything suspicious about it, according to the log. The officer noted that the vehicle was locked, but that there was damage to the steering column, according to the log. The owner of the vehicle was contacted, but did not know if the vehicle was stolen, the log adds. The vehicle's owner called police back to confirm that it had been stolen, the log notes.

Aug. 8

8:19 a.m.: Police received a call about found property on Montvale Avenue, according to a police log. The caller reported that golf clubs were found in the lot, according to the log.
