POLICE LOG: Melrose Man Accused of Assaulting Officer, Breaking into Stoneham Home at Night

At 10:34 p.m. July 21, Stoneham police responded to a High Rock Road home for a report of a building check. Officers discovered a garage door open while checking the building. Kenneth Dykens, 51, of 86 Lake Ave., Melrose, was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, breaking and entering into a home at nighttime (felony), receiving stolen property and resisting arrest.
