Johnson: Victimless crime?! Surely, you jest! I say drug addiction has many victims! Let's start with the victim who gets caught up in the vicious cycle of getting addicted. Often times it is a young person too immature to realize the havoc they will create in their own life being addicted to drugs. Let's then move on to the innocent family members who get their money and possessions stolen by the drug addict who needs money to pay for the drugs. What about an innocent new born who is born to drug addicted biological parents who will never be a real parent because they are too busy doing drugs. Victimless crime?! Surely, you were on drugs when you wrote this comment!

Alcoholism also causes all of those problems you have mentioned. But I assume you are not in favor of making it illegal, no? Drug use is the responsibility of the individual. It is not the governments duty to tell us what we can and cant put into our own bodies. People will use drugs whether they are legal or not. This barbaric war on drugs has put hundreds of thousands behind bars for non violent offenses, with no result in reduction of drug use over the past 30+ years despite over $1 trillion in spending. I truly do not understand how people like you think. The drug war is the exact opposite of what a society based on freedom, liberty, and justice should stand for.
