Man Carjacked 2 Cars, Crashed 7 in Burlington Rampage, Police Say

The wild incident ended on Route 128 south Friday just after 3 p.m.

State Police said a 23-year-old Gloucester man carjacked two vehicles and damaged a total of seven during a rampage in Burlington Friday.

CBS Boston reported Arthur B. Choate carjacked a Chrysler Sebring in Peabody, crashed it, then carjacked a Honda CRV in Burlington and flipped that over on Route 128 southbound at about 3:15 p.m.

He fled the area but was arrested near the Burlington mall, police said.

Police said cruisers did not pursue Choate at any point during the incident.

Choate was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Police said they plan to charge him with more crimes.
