Vital election for Selectmen's Seat

Cyril Vernon Connolly an English intellectual, literary critic and writer said, “Slums may well be breeding grounds of crime, but middle class suburbs are incubators of apathy and delirium.”

Our community has a very important election for Selectmen and Planning Board this year.  An incumbent and a town employee contest the Selectmen seat.  It is vital that this time our town has a large voter turn out to voice it’s beliefs, needs and destiny.  We no longer can be apathetic and sit home. We cannot allow a few to dictate our needs.

This year there are several issues on the table.  We need to know how the candidates feel about The Commons at Weiss Farm.  We need to know how the candidates feel about economic development for Stoneham, Smart Growth and our schools.

We need to know how our town officials intend to strengthen our zoning laws and make sure that individual property owners comply.

We need further investigation on the trash issue that will satisfy the majority of residence of our community

We seriously need to know their qualifications; they’re past history in helping our community as a whole and not a segmented group.  Our Selectman should be a voice for the young, our seniors, our business community and taxpayers.  We need someone who can address the hard-hitting issues on our fiscal needs as well as some one who is concerned about the future growth of our community.  On voting day choose your candidate wisely based on their ability to meet the needs of the whole community.  Show up and give an informed vote.
