Trash on School Grounds

Who is responsible for cleaning the school yards/grounds? Robin Hood School is an embarassment. There are beer cans and empty alcohol bottles everywhere! I picked some up last week and it hardly made a difference. Maybe the kids who spend time in the principal's office should be put to work.

FYI – I emailed Mr. Ragucci this morning and he informed me he would forward to Mr. Grover the concern the light has not been fixed. Mr. Paterson seemed to have reported this issue previously I think this is a perfect example how SEE CLIX FIX program that Selectman O’Neill is trying to introduce would be beneficial to the Stoneham. Once an issue is reported to the town you could track it’s progress on line right to completion. It would be a great way to make sure no issue gets overlooked, especially one as important as school zone safety. Regarding the trash issue I hope to see you all at the Board of Selectman Meeting on April 22nd at 7 pm maybe it would be helpful to have a member of the School Committee there since school grounds and school maintenance is under their umbrella not DPW? I believe that we all share the common goal to have a town we are all proud of and it would great to see all committees & the community working together. I really believe “speak out” topics like this are strictly to find a solution and have no other motives.

I'm the mother whose child was assaulted by both ms Reilly and steven orloff, director of special needs in stoneham public schools & federal prisoner (Google it please) I also lead the charge, designed and built the butterfly garden at Robin Hood with other volunteers. Every year I organized fall and spring clean ups on school grounds with a few other families. No staff or admin ever appeared to be a part if this community. In fact I met dr Olson at one of these clean ups and he didnot thank us or join in at all. Concerned families only! It's sad that a service oriented family was treated in such a despicable way and our children were hurt by attending a school where children w disabilities are quickly transferred out to tank only one local schools MCAS scores. We continue to find it appalling that people are concerned about prisoners cleaning and not about the criminals sitting in the administrative offices of our school district and teachers humiliating children. FYI the only one sitting in the principals office is the principal doing nothing all daylong. Sad but true. Please go walk around the building. Maybe a pedophile wouldn't have harmed my kid if you actually did your job!

Kelly, what is a good way to reach you? I've been following your comments since the recent Stoneham Selectman election campaign, and I'd like to get in touch off of The Patch. Thanks so much.

Is the 20 M.P.H. flashing lights working? If not I suggest http://www.stoneham-ma.gov/home/pages/report-a-problem-seeclickfix You will be able to report the issue and check to see the progress.
