Take a Trip to Sea Dog Brew Pub in Woburn

With an extensive menu, fun events and a large selection of brewed beers, Sea Dog has a little something for everyone.

Overview: is the most happening place in Woburn. They top off their menu of specialty brews, surf and turf dinners, plus eclectic pub fare with lots of events that will keep you coming back for more. They have something going on for every holiday, Stump trivia on Mondays, a Bloody Mary bar on Sundays and members of their Mug Club get half-priced appetizers on Wednesdays and Sundays. This small local chain is very active on the web and you can receive updates for their events and new specials through Facebook, Twitter and its Web site.

Decor: Sea Dog’s mascot Barney is branded everywhere in the restaurant from the exterior and interior signs to their drink coasters. The décor is sleek, a bit modern with a touch of rustic flair.

The Drinks: You can’t visit Sea Dog without imbibing one of their delicious brews. Brewed in Maine they have everything from an Apricot Wheat Bear, to an Old East India Pale Ale to a Riverdriver Hazelnut Porter. They also have specialty cocktails like their potent Sea Dog Raz.

Appetizers: Seafood lovers will rejoice in Sea Dog’s appetizer menu. Their fried calamari with jalapenos, citrus ranch mayo and argula and their steamed mussels from Portland come highly recommended. They also have chicken tenders with blueberry BBQ sauce and flank steak nachos for everyone else.

Entrees: It’s your standard pub fare with a twist. With sandwiches, burgers, salads, wraps, surf or turf entrees and lil’ entrees for kids, there is a wide variety to chose from. Try their signature clam chowder, their grilled meatloaf sandwich, pork chop entrée, pan-seared tuna or their filet mignon. Or you can build your own burger with their different burger options and toppings.

Sides: The onion rings are almost the size of your head and their tater tots taste like fried mashed potatoes.

Desserts: Sea Dog’s dessert menu is always changing but if you can snag their delicious carrot cake, you won’t be disappointed.

Service: You can get table service in one of their many booths and tables either in the dining area or at the bar. They serve the full lunch and dinner menu at the bar as well. Service is friendly and the bartenders will help you find the perfect brew to suit your palette.

The restaurant is located at 230 Mishawum Road, Woburn.

Hi Diana, I haven't been to the Sea Dog Brew Pub in Woburn, but went to the one in Portland, Maine and it was good. I like salads so I'll have to give the chopped salad a try when I swing over there at some point. Thanks, Mark Ouellette Editor, Stoneham Patch
