Some Questions About Ragucci
Anyone else read yesterday's disturbing Globe article about the former mayor of Everett/ Stoneham's current town administrator, Dave Ragucci's pet project? If you haven't you should:
After the trail of "duhhh.......I had no idea......" that Ragucci seems to be leaving around Stoneham over the past year, let me guess: he didn't know anything about what the article talks about.

Let's be real. With Ragucci's position on the Redevelopment Authority in Everett how could he not know about the relationships with criminals? And while I'm talking Everett Redevelopment Authority, how is it that Ragucci is up to his armpits in bettering Everett, yet Stoneham has operated without a town planner for years??? Stoneham has no master plan. WHY???? Where is Ragucci's focus??
Just come clean, Dave: Is Stoneham merely a resting stop with a paycheck until you can get a full casino job in Everett?

Still not convinced, dear reader? Then think about this next point: Cities and towns had an opportunity to apply for "surrounding community status." This recognizes communities that will be impacted by the Everett casino and provides mitigation money in varying amounts. Somerville got $100,000 per year and Melrose got $50,000. Residents from these communities also receive hiring preference.
Melrose has a blog called Melrose Messages, which is a more personal version of the Patch. Writers were actually gloating and laughing how they received money. SALEM, MA also got money!!! How is that????
Melrose was actually deemed a long shot for that funding. Stoneham has routes 128 and 93 going through it...........a main route to Everett...........and we didn't even apply????
If Ragucci applied for Stoneham do you think the commission would have frowned on him, thus losing his "golden position"? Or do you think he just plain didn't care?
All I know is, with Dave Ragucci at the table, Stoneham seems to be dealt bad hands over and over. Seriously, Stoneham, before we lose even more, it's really time to fold on Dave Ragucci.
