Community Corner

Protect our community

In his State of the Union address to Congress our president said “ since the most important investment many families make is their home, send me legislation that protects taxpayers from footing the bill for a housing crisis ever again, and keeps the dream of homeownership alive for future generations of Americans.”

Although he was referring to reforming Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, it could also reflect on the Commonwealth of Massachusetts plight with Chapter 40B.   Our community will not grow and prosper in the future and cultivate new homeowners to move to Stoneham with poor economic development being instituted by allowing a project of The Commons at Weiss Farm.

It is vitally important that the community at large take an active role in preventing such a development coming to fruition.   This is not a case of “not in my neighborhood “ viewpoints but a case of not in our town.
