Five Things You Need to Know Today: Jan. 18

Haven't the faintest idea what's going on in the Stoneham community? Here is a quick summary.

1. Breakfast is served! The Friends of the Library annual breakfast is slated for 10 a.m. at , 431 Main St., in the Marcy Room. Local author Kate Genovese will be the guest speaker at the breakfast, which is free and open to the public, at 10:30 a.m.

2. Got dry skin? , 489 Main St., is holding a hands-on workshop from 6-7:30 p.m. Participants can make their own body scrub from natural ingredients for $15. Space is limited and registration is required.

3. Skating the day away. Public skating at , 101 Montvale Ave., is open from 10-11:45 a.m. The cost of admission is $4 per adult and $3 for children 16-years-old and under. However, visitors to the Arena need to bring their own skates, as rentals aren't provided at the facility.

4. Making a difference. The , which consists of more than 50 churchgoers from several churches in town providing meals to people from the community, is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Stoneham, 1 Church St.
