Cease Fire on Franklin Street!!

Wouldn’t it be nice for all boards in Stoneham to take a rest on site plans, conservation work, appeals work and planning board on developments and changes on Franklin Street and surrounding neighborhoods for Christmas and particularly with the upcoming final comments being submitted to Mass.  Housing on The Commons at Weiss Farm.

Personally I would like to finish wrapping my Christmas Presents, touching up decorations around my home and finish Christmas baking and not drive down to Town Hall for the Selectmen Meeting as on the agenda is 140 ½ Franklin St. site plan.  Didn’t this go before the Planning Board last week for a transfer of used car license and supposedly just paper work change.  Now what is a site plan needed for?

Then there is the 4-lot sub division on Gerald Rd that buffers Weiss Farm.  How can you address this development without consideration of the proposed construction on Weiss Farm?  Remember the letter sent on the unstable condition of ground levels at Weiss Farm sent by the past Chairman of Conservation about Weiss Farm.  How can the issues of soil erosion not be relevant to the neighboring acreage on Gerald Rd?

Would like to see a slow down on development and changes to Franklin St. until we find out what Mass Housing will do about Weiss Farm.  Is that too much to ask for?  Also would like to see the final comments posted as a matter of public record that the Board of Selectmen sends to Massachusetts Housing.

We appreciate all the efforts and letters done by the Friends of Stoneham, Representative Lewis, town officials and department heads and concerned citizens of our community.   Can we all take a little break now and enjoy the holidays.

Thank you all and Merry Christmas.
