Varsity Girls' Basketball Team Beats Essex Aggie

The girls defeated Essex Aggie by limiting a key opposing player's score and racking up double-digit scores from two of their own players.

The Mystic Valley Girls Varsity Basketball team beat Essex Aggie by a score 43-33 on Tuesday. The win moves their record to 7-4 on the season.

The girls were led on offense by Meghan Foley who had 18 points followed by Jordan Sullivan with 10 and Jessica Phinney with 8. The girls were down by three at halftime but were able to outscore their opponent by 13 in the second half to nail down the win.

After the game coach Rahul Shah remarked that the game was “another great example of a total team effort as each player positively contributed to our big league win. Rachel Tortora did an outstanding job keeping their best player scoreless in the third quarter allowing us to gain and maintain the lead in the second half."
