Celebrate Hanukkah with the Music Man!

On Sunday, December 9th at 12:00 Noon, Temple Shalom of Medford, located at 475 Winthrop Street, will welcome families and children to celebrate the happy Hanukkah holiday with loads of family fun, kids music, dancing, arts and crafts activities, latkes, games and a children’s book fair!


 


Boston Children’s Music Entertainer Ed Morgan, known familiarly throughout the Boston area as “The Music Man,” will showcase his talents, making music with his guitar, harmonica, kazoo and silly sing-a-long tunes. Children and families of all ages will delight in Ed’s rhythms and foot stomping dance action.

A menorah lighting ceremony will begin this festive, fun-filled afternoon in celebration of the miracle of Hanukkah.

Hanukkah Party Highlights Include:


 


MUSIC & DANCING: A fun-filled sing-a-long performance by Boston Children’s musician Ed Morgan, a.k.a The Music Man, featuring Hanukkah songs, guitar, harmonica, kazoo and get-up-and-dance audience participation, geared for children aged infant through 10 and their families.


 


YUMMY HANUKKAH TREATS: Crispy hot potato latkes and soft, sugary sufganiot (Hanukkah-style jelly doughnuts) will mark the festive holiday occasion.


 


SPECIALTY CRAFTS & GAMES: Menorah making, glittery stars and hands-on Hanukkah craft projects for kids will be featured. Spinning dreidels and an array of exciting kids games will keep children laughing and learning.  


 


JEWISH CHILDREN’S BOOK FAIR: A wide selection of children’s books will be displayed for sale. These high-quality children’s books are rich with Jewish content and cultural diversity.


 


Temple Shalom invites all community members to come experience these warm Hanukkah traditions with family and friends, and share in the holiday joy at this festive holiday event!


 


COST: A contribution of $5 per family is suggested, along with a donation of a new, winter clothing item for a child, to be donated to a local shelter.
